36% of Danes think that the new rules about the child and youth benefit disbursement are a better solutionFebruary 17th, 2022
Child and youth benefit was introduced for the first time in 1987 as a tax-free income dependent benefit for families with children under 18 years. But unlike earlier, when this benefit was disbursed either to the mother or to that parent with whom the child lived, this has changed from January 1st, 2022, and entailed that each of the parents now receives a half of the benefit.
We have asked our panel members what they think of this.
36 percent of our panel members think that the new distribution rules, entailing benefit distribution between the parents is a good solution.
Around one fifth of the participants in the survey (19 percent) replied that both solutions are all right for them, while 16 percent of the participants think that the new solution is bad.
As many as one-third of the survey participants (29%) didn’t have any opinion about this question.
