66 percent of the Swedes believe that COVID-19 will affect them negatively

April 3rd, 2020

How are the Swedes affected by the current situation with corona? And how do the Swedes think Sweden will be impacted? Userneeds has examined this in a survey in order to get the answers.

Userneeds has conducted a survey on how the Swedes experience the corona crisis. The study shows that the Swedes generally are prepared to be negatively affected by the situation. As many as 66 percent of Swedes answer that they expect their lives will be affected negatively in nearest future. At the same time, 30 percent expect their private finances to be affected to a great extent.

However according to the results, the Swedes do not experience much concern for being infected by the corona virus. 47 percent have a small or very small concern about being infected with corona themselves. By contrast, 23 percent answer they have a high or very high concern about being infected.

As many as 67 percent of the Swedes believe that the Swedish government has handled the situation with corona well in relation to the measures taken to limit the spread. Only 6 percent believe that the Swedish government has handled the situation very poorly. There is thus a great support from the Swedes to the government.

This is also evident in their response to whether they have bought or plan to buy food and other supplies for storage in the case of a crisis. As many as 29 percent of the Swedes answer that they not all have bought or plan to shop for storage. At the same time, 46 percent answer that they to a small or very small extent do not plan to buy more or have bought food and other supplies for storage.

The results of the survey also show that 27 percent of the Swedes believe that it will take a year before Sweden is back on its feet. 19 percent think it will take half a year and 18 percent think it will take 2 to 3 years before Sweden is back on its feet.
