How often do you attend to a church service? At Userneeds we found it interesting to ask our panel members in Ireland and the Nordics this question in a quick poll. People attend to church services for many reasons. Some because of their belief, some only does it as a duty for weddings, baptisms, and then some does not have the time to make it a priority.
Do you belong to the group of people who attend to a church service often, or do you belong to the group of people who rarely attend for a church service? There are different reasons and motivations for people attending a church service. Some people attend weekly, some attend a few times a year and then there is a group who never attend a church service. Further, we found it interesting to see if there is a difference between our panel members’ behavior regarding this in Ireland and the Nordics. At Userneeds, we have set up a quick poll to ask our panel members the question: “How often do you attend a church service?”
The result of the quick poll shows that the Irish panel members are more likely to attend a church service. 18 percent of the Irish panel members attend a church service once a week and 5 percent more than once a week. In the Nordics, these percentages are lower. Only between 1 percent (Finland) and 4 percent (Norway) attend a church service more than once a week and between 1 percent (Denmark, Finland, and Sweden) and 2 percent (Norway) attend once a week.
Further, 44 percent of the Irish panel members attend a church service within maximum 6 months. In Sweden and Finland this percentage is respectively only 13 and 14 percent. In Denmark and Norway, the percentages for who attend a church service within 6 months are respectively 23 and 21 percent. Thereby, Ireland is the country where most of Userneeds’ panel members attend church most frequently. This also shows, as only 9 percent in Ireland attend a church service rarer than once a year where in the other countries the percentage is between 20 percent (Finland and Sweden) and 23 percent (Denmark).
Sweden and Norway are the countries where most never goes to church as respectively 36 percent and 29 percent never attend a church service. 31 percent of the Finnish panel members only attend a church service for Christmas, weddings, baptisms, and the like. This percentage is between 14 percent (Denmark) and 19 percent (Sweden) in the other countries.
The quick poll has indicated that Userneeds’ Irish panel members are more likely to attend a church service more often than the countries in the Nordics. Further a large percentage of the Swedish members never attend a church service.
We hope you find it interesting reading about the results from the quick poll. Thank you to everyone who have contributed with their answer.
