How would you characterize yourself as a driver?

February 20th, 2019

Depending on how much you drive you may have experienced being angry at other drivers. Perhaps they are driving too slow or maybe it’s the opposite and they are right behind you trying to go faster than the speed limit allows. We have asked our Nordic and Irish panel members if they swear at other drivers behind the wheel.

You might not be proud of it but by the looks of the results you have probably sworn at another person while driving more than once. Put differently, only between 10 and 15 percent of the panel members in the Nordic countries and Ireland answer ”No” when asked the question: Do you swear at other drivers behind the wheel? On the contrary, the majority in each country choose the answer option ”Yes, sometimes”. Between 33 percent (Denmark and Finland) and 37 percent (Norway) have chosen this option.

The second most chosen option is ”Rarely”, chosen by between 22 percent (Ireland) and 31 percent (Denmark). This leaves ”Yes, very often” and ”Yes, every time I drive” left and while between 10 and 13 percent in each country answer ”Yes, very often”, the figures are a bit more apart when it comes to swearing at someone every time you drive. In other words, 5 percent of the Danish panel members swear at other drivers every time they drive, whereas 14 percent in Ireland do the same thing.

Finally between 6 and 7 percent in each country answer, they do not have a driver’s license.
