There are more Swedish companies who believe in a positive development compared to last month’s measurements. However, several companies still express that the economic indicators are all negative. This shows the latest survey that Userneeds contributed in conducting for Demoskop and SEB.
Userneeds contributed in conducting a survey for Demoskop, who conducts the survey “Företagarindikator”, translated to Company Performance Indicator, every month on behalf of the leading Nordic financial group SEB and the bank’s innovation study SEBx, which focuses on the self-employed and develops the banking app UNQUO to meet their needs. The survey was conducted in the period 20 January to 28 January and shows that the Company Performance Indicator has increased from 4 to 12 units, which is an increase of 8 units. This indicates a more optimistic attitude for the next three months.
The Company Performance Indicator shows the difference between the proportion of those who believe in a positive development and the proportion of those who believe in a negative development. The proportion of companies who believe in a positive development of activities has increased by 5 units to 28 percent. At the same time, there is a decrease in the proportion of those who believe in an unchanged development with 3 units and is 51 percent. The proportion of those who believe in a negative development has fallen from 19 to 16 percent. In the latest study, there is a more optimistic view on the development than last month, as this measurement shows an indicator of plus 12.
Despite more companies showing a higher degree of optimism, more and more companies are affected by a tough year 2020, although economic indicators have improved since last month. Companies show that the economic indicators turnover, liquidity and working hours are still negative. Liquidity is minus 3 units this month compared to minus 4 in the previous, and working time is minus 10 units compared to minus 21 at the previous measurement. However, one can assume that it is only a matter of time before this reverse as a result of the vaccine.
